untethered jailbreak

Starting from Pangu 9.3.3 over a year back up until the recent Jailbreak Phoenix, we found a flow of semi-untethered with a mix of both tethered and untethered jailbreak features. Although it was quite strange at the entry, with consistent updates the jailbreak signing through an IPA with use Cydia impactor download came quite familiar. But as always, the need of resigning of the jailbreak after every reboot and all conditions to the certificate expiry happened to meet distaste being the reason if anyone still prevents in the move to semi-untethered jailbreak.

For whom tihmstar’s Untethered Jailbreak can be used?

This is the very first untethered package came to the jailbreak community after years. And this is for iOS 9.1-9.3.4 Home Depot Jailbreak devices from semi-untethered. Although tihmstar has promised this untethered package to work for all devices jailbroken with Home Depot previously, for current, it is extremely limited in the device compatibility. So for the moment, it is only workable for 32-bit iPhone 4S on iOS 9.3.4. But we believe it will add support for other devices as well progressively.

How does it work to Install Cydia?

As stated repeatedly, the app can only be used for iOS 9.3.4 running iPhone 4 devices only. So we do not recommend experimenting with others if you aren’t with any expert knowledge in making modifications. It starts with the tihmstar’s repo following the package comes UntetherHomeDepot.

It is clear that Pegasus vulnerabilities are used here in the untether. But as the developer has not open-sourced the based untether code yet, we are unknown how the vulnerabilities are arranged here. So follow the video guide to catch how it works on the device.

UntetherHomeDepot v 1.2.0 Updated

Seeing at the work frame, we are clear that the tool is still in progress. So as a result, tihmstar has now offered version 1.2.0 recently, fixing a trouble on devices with a passcode applied. And concern from the initial release, the version 1.2.0 looks solution to a lot of bugs but still in need of better stability. And further, the OpenSSH daemon failing in the start is too a known trouble with the package. So to make the best use of the package, you are required caution together with the appropriate skill. And do not forget, you are extremely limited with the compatibility which you need the double check before proceeding.
