Kernel exploit published for iOS 10.3.1 Jailbreak

Adam Donenfeld came a few months back with a promise of the Kernel exploit reported on iOS 10.3.1 and previous. And he was in the plan of its release in the event HITBGSEC 2017 aimed for summer in Singapore. And now the summer is on and the conference is almost done. So as promised, this all about the Kernel Exploit published with a new hope on iOS 10.3.1 Jailbreak for 64-bit devices.

iOS 10.3.1 jailbreak

Is new Jailbreak available now?

The news of the Kernel exploit publication has rumored an arrival of a new jailbreak. But for now, there is no jailbreak available as this is just a reveal of a powerful exploit. When Donenfeld reveals about the exploit in his presentation at the Conference, he must have no intention of turning it a fully functional jailbreak by himself. In fact, it is clear here as he was welcoming others to make use of it with the intention of a public tool launch. But yet, there was no update for it.

Are we close to iOS 10.3.1 Jailbreak?

As to the reputed developer Min Zheng, by now 66% of the expectable jailbreak is done. In detail,  Donenfeld’s kernel exploits put 33% for the new jailbreak development when the other 33% given by Ian Beer’s triple_fetch sandbox escape. So as Zheng further reveals, the remaining part is the kernel protection bypass patch which also around 33% of the whole project. But when it is not necessarily needed, the exploit already revealed is like the whole success needed for a new update. So it is very much possible to see a new jailbreak iOS 10.3.1, in target 64-bit devices. But it depends on how soon one attempts to bundle all exploits in the right arrangement of a tool update.

Expected Device Support

As to the facts so far confirmed, the expected jailbreak would add support for all 64-bit devices. And for the happy fact, it will include flagship iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. So 64-bit devices running iOS 10.3.1 and previous would get a great news soon for all the expectations to new Cydia Download. But with no mercy, 32-bit is completely gone here.

Progress of an Untethered Jailbreak

At a time semi-untethered jailbreak has won over all other concepts of jailbreak and Cydia, we come to meet a full Untethered Jailbreak by tihmstar. This workable for all 32-bit legacy device which was previously been jailbroken by semi-untethered Home Depot. So if you were not happy with resigning, expiry and all hybrid setting of the new jailbreak trend, this is a worthy download from tihmstar’s Cydia repo for a complete switch to untethered.

The release of new untethered package proves there is still life on older untethered jailbreak concept. So there is a possibility to see another untethered move in the jailbreak making a pause to all regular semi-untethered sessions. And no one can say it is impossible to expect jailbreak iOS 10.3.1 to be untethered different from all updates so far. So let’s wait and watch.

If someone ready to make use of the published exploit, iOS 10.3.1 jailbreak is possible. So until then, save blobs and prevent upgrading from iOS 10.3.1 or lower.
